Alexis Bledel Tutorial!
The days have been going really fast o.o..there's not much to blog, i go to school, have brunch and go crazy with my friends, go to my elective classes, go to lunch, go once again crazy with my friends, then go back to classes, get extremely bored and start doodling in history class (the last class), and then i'm done with school and i go home :). plus i have hw after school, and orchestra practice (violin <3 ^^), and i have other stuff,,,but nothing "interesting" is happening...
Ahhh...i was bored...supposed to be doing my huge pile of hw, but i was bored of that >.<...so here's a tut i made ;)...then i'll go back to hw >.<..........
First tutorial, hope i make sense and it came out right :/..and its helpful
From this:
To this:
- Made in Gimp
- Probably Translatable :)
- Works best with dark images, mainly for making dark images brighter
- Intermediate: Need Knowledge of how Curves, Layer Styles, and Channel Mixer works.
1. Do any necessary sharpening to your base, the outcome looks better :)
2. Duplicate layer to "Screen" 100%
3. Duplicate the base image, set its layer to "Overlay" at 100%. Then, let's color the image a bit with some red, so go to Colors->Curves, setting the following values:
Value: x120 y158
Red: x100 y135
Green: x127 y111
Blue: x113 y102
Alpha: none
4. Duplicate the base layer again, place it on top and set it to "Overlay" at 100%. Then go to Colors->Components->Channel Mixer, setting the following values:
Preserve Luminosity: checked
Monochrome: not Checked
Output Channel-Green:
Red= 102.2
Green= 13.3
Blue= -7.4
Output Channel-Red:
Red: 51.9
Green: 135.9
Blue: -81.5
Output Channel-Blue:
Red: 0
Green:0
Blue: 100
Creating a really wierd green coloring on the image, but by setting it to overlay, the green blends and it looks orange ;)
5. Let's add some more red :D; duplicate the layer with the coloring you used in step 3, place it on top, setting it to "Overlay" at 100%.
6. Now it has a "burn" kinda look, to make it less like this, duplicate the original Base and bring it to the top. Set that to "Screen" at 100%.
7. For a final touch, and to add some color to the brightness *shields eyes*, fill the layer with the color #0e348a or this color:
and set it of at "Screen" 100%.
Optional: the bright lips are, in my opinion, bugging. Let's cover them up; I zoomed in the image, picked a color from the lips (the one used the most), and went over it on new layer with the paintbrush :). I put this layer under the blue screen layer to let it blend in. This step may not be nessacary for your image.
After all this YOUR DONE!!! CONGRATS!!!! XD
